Prayer Letter

Dear Friends and Family,

We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support for our trip to China. Your emails and phone calls of encouragement have been very reassuring during the planning stages of our trip. With our trip a few days away we have become more and more certain that your prayers and supplication before God’s throne will be the power and wind behind our effectiveness. We are asking for you to team with us in proclaiming God’s love to the people of this world through prayer.

We know that without the Holy Spirit and God’s blessing upon our group and our work this trip will be in vain. We know that without unity and a passion for the Chinese this trip will be in vain. We know that without an eternal perspective this trip will simply be an exciting experience with a multitude of challenges. We also know, without a doubt, that eternal things cannot be accomplished by ourselves. Because of this, we are asking that you join us from June 1-21 in teaming with God in his passion for the nations through prayer. Psalms 67:1-2 says, “May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations” (NIV). If you read all of Psalms 67 you will see that God longs for the people of the world…people of all nations to praise him. Because of this, we want to ask that you pray for us daily in the next three weeks for the following things:

 Travel and safety-to and in China
 Team Unity-that we would bear with one another in love
 Love for Chinese-if we do not love we are a “clanging cymbal”
 Humility and selflessness-because China is such a collective society they will notice the way we look out for one another and our servants’ hearts
 Wisdom for Brian and Jodi as issues arise and decisions need to be made for the entire group
 Endurance, faith, obedience, courage, and strength for our trip
 Eyes for the eternal

We truly covet the prayers that you lift up on our behalf during this time. China is 13 hours ahead of the central time zone…so when you are going to bed, we will just be beginning our day. We firmly believe that our role in God’s plan will be more effective if powered by the prayers that you will lift to the Father. Thank you so much for covering us in prayer.
