Today marks just one day under three weeks until we leave for our trip to China. God has blessed us beyond what we can imagine with our fund raising. Even though there are individuals who have not raised their individual goal, as a team we have raised enough to meet our team budget. We are down to the minute details...and have begun our list to finish up the planning. As we near the end...we are realizing that our dependence on God and His timing is vital to this trip. We have a few prayer requests for our friends and family as we near our departure date. Please pray for:
1. Naomi Dugger--she is one of our students who was diagnosed with mono a week ago. The doctor gave her a steroid to boost her immune system and she had an allergic reaction. So...please pray that she would begin to feel better; even with that in mind she needs wisdom and we need wisdom as we decide whether it is even wise to allow her to come. She is such an asset to our group and brings a spiritual maturity that will be sorely missed.
2. Our details left to plan. We have the small, but vitally important details left to figure out (even packing). WE DON'T WANT TO MISS EVEN ONE!!!
3. Our students. We covet your prayers for our students. We pray that they would be spiritually preparing themselves for this trip...but also that they would be significantly impacted by the Holy Spirit as we serve and spread the love of Jesus.
4. Those we meet in China. Oh that Christ would stick out all over! We want Jesus to radiate from our actions, our unity, our faces, our speech, our smiles. Please pray that the Chinese would see Christ and opportunities would be presented. Also pray for courage for us as we try to be faithful to walk through open doors that the Holy Spirit opens.
God is good. He is always good. He is faithful and just. He is majestic in beauty. He is our rock and shelter and in the shadow of His wings we rest. Our final prayer is that we would remember who God is. That this is His trip. His character never changes...and we long to see Him and know Him more intimately through this trip. We must remember in all of the trials of this trip...in all of the cultural "inconveniences" and the weary travel that this is for His glory...not ours. Please pray that we would remain humble and usable as we travel for His glory alone.
